I was going to do some ranting about the Chinese Raping of Africa but last night we were watching a commercial about some lizard selling Auto insurance and boom! This gag flashed in front of my face like magic. Where do the gags come from cartoonist keep pumping out on a daily basis for years and year? Some comic strips are way older than most television shows and the gags just keep coming. You never know where they will come from and sometimes I wake up in the morning with a gag on my mind and other days I wonder if I will ever be able to come up with another barb at the illogical things going on around us and just when I think all is lost something will hit me out of the blue. Usually I get my ideas from other cartoonists and maybe they get some ideas from me but that is what makes drawing silly pictures with jokes attached such a wild and crazy life.
If you do not understand what makes the above cartoon funny, you are probably to young to have seen any Road Runner and Wiley E Coyote cartoons. Anyway more comics from the Acme School of Cartooning in future weeks. Hope you enjoy as much as I do thinking up these silly gag.
